I am trying to help my father locate some men that served in the Philippines with him in WWII. My father is Frank Eugene "Gene" Jordan aka "Doc" and he was a medic with the 37th Infantry Division, 129th Regimen, 3rd BTN, Company I, medical detachment in WWII. He is 81 years old now (1/2003). Any information on men that served with him would be appreciated.

The years I spent in the Army from Jan 1987 to Jul 8,1996 were the best years of my life. It is strange to see that we are still fighting a war that happened 12 years ago, but thats the way it goes. I don't think anyone was prepared for 9/11/01. It took a lot of us by surprise. I read "Chicken Soup for the Veteran," and it praised a lot of Marines. I think all the services must work together to win these wars.

I really enjoyed readind the stories especially the "NOW I LAY ME DOWN TO SLEEP" it really affected me in a way none of the other stories did. I was a 16 yr old merchant seaman in WWII in the Atlantic & Pacific war zones and a Korean War veteran twice in the Navy. Will look for the sequel with pleasure.

I thank you also. I'm an interviewer of vets and defense plant workers of the WWII era for the American Airpower Heritage Museum's Oral history department. I've taped hundreds of experiences for the CAF/AAHM. They send out a free copy of the interview to the interviewees . Many of those I contact do not want to be interviewed for many reasons, one being, they don't want recurring nightmares of those events they were involved in, and I don't pressure them. I oftentimes become very frustrated, but I keep on trying, because I'm doing this, not for me, but for history. The program survives on donations: funds I don't have privy to; my time is my donation. There are other volunteers in the program. Those who don't understand why I continue to do it, think I'm nuts. Until I can't find any more WWII-era prospects, I will continue, no matter what comments I receive. This has been difficult to put into words. Thank you.
